Bauletti® con friarielli e Caciocavallo Silano DOP express all the intensity and veracity of the Neapolitan character. Two ingredients that can tell a story that is as long as it is passionate. We will only tell you that the friariello, the Campania region’s rendition of the just budding inflorescent shoots of the turnip, better known as broccoli rabe, is one of the region’s most popular and commonly used vegetables. Its name comes from “frijere”, which, in local dialect, means frying because now as then, friariello is indeed fried. Tastier than ever, friariello has crossed regional borders in recent years and enjoyed huge success. And it could not be otherwise, because the intense taste of friariello and its mildly spicy touch surprises everyone for its originality. In our filling the friariello meets another strong flavour, that of the Caciocavallo, oval-shaped, semi-hard, stretched curd cheese with a sweet taste and a slightly spicy aftertaste. The Caciocavallo we use in our Bauletti® is the Caciocavallo Silano DOP, which is produced on the Sila plateau, guaranteed by the Consortium that protects it: an excellence rooted in Southern Italy’s noblest dairy tradition.
